My Story

My passion for helping women heal did not begin in a classroom. It began in my own story.

My parents divorced when I was young, and at thirteen years old, I was being sexually abused by my uncle. At fourteen, I ran away from home to escape the abuse and became homeless.

At fifteen, pregnant and alone, I stood on a bridge looking into the dark water below. I was prepared to end my life and the life of my unborn child. I believed I had no future and nowhere left to turn.

I have also been the wife and mother sitting at home with three children, wondering whether their alcoholic father would return with enough money to pay the rent or buy food—or whether everything had already been lost through drinking and gambling.

These were not stories I heard from someone else. I lived them.

At twenty-eight, I divorced the father of my children and found myself raising three children alone with no formal education. After years of trauma and abuse, I was filled with fear, insecurity, and self-doubt.

My former husband refused to provide support. He told me that he hoped I would starve and that our children and I would become homeless.

But I determined that his words would not become our future.

I worked three jobs. I returned to school. I earned my real estate license and eventually built a successful career that allowed me to support my family. From the outside, it appeared that I had overcome my past.

But success did not automatically heal the trauma.

Even while building a better life, I continued to struggle with feelings of insecurity, fear, and unworthiness. I had changed my circumstances, but the wounds of my past were still shaping the way I saw myself.

When Life Fell Apart Again

My story did not end there.

I later married a man whom I believed would be a wonderful husband and father. Together, we found faith in Jesus. I returned to school and earned my Ph.D. in Psychology. We established a clinic serving troubled youth and families and eventually began a church ministry.

I was living the life I had once only dreamed about. I had a beautiful family, a meaningful ministry, and a rewarding career.

Then, after twenty-five years of marriage, I discovered the affairs and pornography addiction.

The verbal abuse followed.

It felt as though a bomb had exploded in the center of my family, sending emotional shrapnel in every direction. Everything that had once felt secure suddenly became uncertain. I was numb, heartbroken, confused, and forced to confront a terrifying question:

At fifty-seven years old, could I begin again?

The answer was—and still is—a resounding yes.

Turning Pain into Purpose

Through my own healing journey, I discovered that it is possible to do more than survive trauma. It is possible to heal, rebuild, and thrive.

I found practical and spiritual keys that helped me understand the effects of trauma, renew my mind, rebuild my confidence, and rediscover the woman God created me to be.

Today, I have helped hundreds of women—including professionals, business leaders, and women in ministry—recover from abuse, betrayal, divorce, grief, and emotional devastation. I help women separate their identity from what happened to them, recognize the patterns trauma created, and reconnect with their God-given purpose.

My past pain no longer defines me, but it does help me understand the women I serve.

I know what it is like to feel frightened, rejected, betrayed, and unsure whether starting over is possible. I also know what it is like to discover that God can redeem what appears to be broken beyond repair.

That is why I am here.

I am turning pain into purpose in the Kingdom of God and helping women move from merely surviving to living with freedom, confidence, strength, and hope.

Your trauma may be part of your story, but it does not have to determine your future.

You can heal.

You can rebuild.

You can thrive again.
